Why BioTE® is the Gold Standard for Hormone Optimization

Why BioTE® is the Gold Standard for Hormone Optimization

Hormone imbalances can negatively impact many aspects of your health, from causing weight gain and brain fog to zapping your energy and making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.

At Lake Granbury Internal Medicine & Pediatrics in Granbury, TX, Dr. Penelope Jackson has helped countless women and men feel like their best selves again with BioTE® hormone optimization therapy.

Here’s what she wants you to know about this transformative treatment

BioTE basics

BioTe is a form of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. Unlike synthetic hormones, bioidentical hormones are derived from plant sources, such as soy or yams. Chemists extract a compound called diosgenin and convert it into hormones like estradiol or testosterone. The final result is a molecule that’s chemically identical to what your ovaries or testes produce.

The system uses tiny pellets, about the size of a grain of rice, that contain customized doses of testosterone or estrogen. We place them under the skin, usually in the hip area. Once they're in place, they release a steady stream of hormones into your bloodstream.

Administration is simple. After a numbing agent is applied, we make a tiny incision to insert the pellet. Most patients only need this procedure every three to five months.

Since the pellets dissolve slowly, they provide a stable level of hormones without the peaks and valleys found in pills, patches, or creams.

Roughly 60% of BioTE users are women, while 40% are men.

BioTE for women

For women, estrogen and testosterone levels drop significantly during perimenopause and menopause. It can cause a multitude of bothersome, sometimes debilitating symptoms, including hot flashes, night sweats, bone density loss, low energy, and brain fog. BioTE helps stabilize these levels, alleviating such symptoms.

BioTE for men

Testosterone levels begin to drop gradually after age 30. This can lead to decreased muscle mass, decreased libido, and fatigue. Optimization helps men regain strength and mental clarity.  Because the drop is so gradual, many men assume they’re just getting old and that there's nothing they can do about it. However, low testosterone is tied to metabolic health.

BioTE enjoys a high satisfaction rate.

BioTe-certified providers have performed over 4 million pellet insertions globally since the company began in 2012. It’s research cites a 93% satisfaction rate, with patients often reporting they feel better within four to six weeks after their first insertion.

If you've struggled with traditional hormone treatments, pellet therapy might be the solution you need. Call 817-349-6186 to schedule a consultation with Dr. Jackson today.
